Initiative Description: An exergame dance mat system (a combination of a computer game and PA where dance steps are projected onto a wall or screen and players follow them on floor activated dance pads) was introduced to the selected secondary schools. Schools from 2 local authority districts received the intervention and were compared to schools from neighboring local authority school districts who did not receive the intervention. Schools receiving the intervention were encouraged to use the dance mats during PE classes, breaks, lunch periods, and outside of school hours.
Study Results: Improved reaction time, coordination, and mathematic skills.
