Who We Are
The Advancing Innovation and Dissemination of Evidence-Based Action in Schools (IDEAS) for Health initiative was initially funded by The Colorado Health Foundation. We are a multi-university collaborative informing the translation of high quality, rigorous research to sustainable practices and policies for creating healthy schools. IDEAS for Health is part of a collective impact effort improving the alignment of systems to support school environments and cultures that integrate health and wellness equitably for all students and staff.
What We Do
- DATA COACHING
One of the hardest things about data is knowing how to make sense of it. We work with you to figure out how to use what data you have, and identify what data you still need to gather.
- TRADITIONAL AND EMPOWERMENT EVALUATION
To figure out whether a program is reaching its intended outcomes, we can perform traditional evaluations. We can also integrate empowerment practices into traditional evaluations to build your capacity and skills for future evaluations.
- RESEARCH TO PRACTICE
IDEAS engages with teams of researchers across the country who seek solutions to address school health and wellness. We want to connect these resources to those working on the ground in Colorado.
This Website
The Evidence-Based Practices for improving school health found on this website were developed by conducting ten systematic literature reviews for each component of the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) framework with a focus on health and academic outcomes.
The search dates for interventions targetting health outcomes were from 1987 to 2017-18, and the search dates for interventions targetting academic outcomes were from 1987 to 2018-19.
The evidence-based initiatives are resources for school and district educational professionals or anyone who may be interested in improving school health and wellness.
