Initiative Description: Resilience Committees were set up in each school community to oversee the planning, development, and evaluation of resilience initiatives. School-wide processes, guided by the HPS model, were used to include children and families in the development of resilience projects (Stewart, 2008). Workshops for students, staff, and parents focusing on the three spheres of this model helped support the development of: school curriculum specifically addressing resilience on a needs basis; a school ethos and environment specifically addressing resilience; and new and re-invigorated school-community partnerships, family activities and initiatives, as prioritized by schools.
Study Results: Improved Resilience.
