Initiative Description: A weight management program for Turkish school children and their parents with the aim of inducing behavioral changes by developing the children’s cognitive behavioral skills regarding healthy nutrition, physical exercise, and sedentary lifestyle issues. To ensure that the children felt comfortable with the information and competent at using the new skills they had gained, the game method was used and brief messages about related issues were given to the children. Thus, new information and skills were reinforced in each course. In addition, training programs were organized for parents to improve the awareness of parents about healthy lifestyles
Study Results: Decreased BMI in overweight/obese children.
