Initiative Description: PATHS NI (a teacher delivered age-appropriate series of lessons related to recognizing emotions, expressing feelings, coping with negative feelings such as anger, reacting to social problem-solving situations using culturally relevant literature).
Study Results: students were more able to correctly identify emotions from pictures of children’s expressions, providing competent responses to challenging social situations, identifying emotions/feelings, articulating calming down strategies, and providing explanations of why a social conflict occurred and what to do in response.
