Initiative Description: Implement stress inoculation trainings with exercise, which includes the presentation of the stress-inoculation conceptual framework, skills acquisition (training in cognitive restructuring and self-statement modification), and rehearsal and application. Participants identified thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in specific stress situations, and devised alternatives to cope with the situations. The last 1.2 hour of each session focused on physical activity. In the first sessions, participants were given feedback on their fitness assessment and received an individualized exercise program based on self-monitored heart rate and perceived exertion. Afterwards they set goals and monitored their progress.
Study Results: Reduced teacher stress and decreased anxiety.
