The Steps to Respect

Initiative Description: The program was delivered to 544 3-6 graders from 6 suburban elementary schools. Classroom lessons were implemented from January through March, and 10 weeks were devoted to skill lessons and rule clarification while 2 weeks week focused on empathy.

Study Results: The intervention significantly produced declines in malicious playground gossip.
