Initiative Description: a multicomponent, behavioral theory-based HIV, STD, and pregnancy prevention program. Program components included: a school organization component (council involving teachers, students, parents, administrators, and community representatives) a sequential curriculum for 9th- and 10th-grade students, a peer education and school environment component (A Safer Choices peer team or club at every school), parent education activities, and community linkage activities.
Study Results: Reduced frequency of sexual activity without a condom.
