Initiative Description: Sessions occurred twice a week and lasted approximately 30 min, varying occasionally based on school scheduling requirements. They were conducted in a one-to-one format with each participant, in a small office near the classroom, and followed the structured workbook that is a part of the FRIENDS materials (Barrett, 2004b). A total of 12 sessions were held for each participant.

Study Results: Participants increased the percentage of time engaged in academic tasks over the course of the intervention.
