Initiative Description: The active lesson breaks consisted of walking for 1 km outside the school buildings along a 350m purposely marked the path in the schoolyard, in which the students were required to walk 3 times. The activity was supervised by the classroom teacher, who also participated by walking with the students. The activity was performed in the 10 minutes just before the single break scheduled by the school at 11am.
Study Results: Teachers reported that the program was easy to organize and did not negatively influence their teaching activities, while students reported a small increase in their attention levels after the walking breaks.
