Initiative Description: The study was designed to determine the impact of increased quality Physical Education time on the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) standardized scores. The researchers examined the PE curriculum for both participating schools. Participating students took the standardized exams within a 2 month time period.
Study Results: The more hours student spent participating in quality physical education classes resulted in higher standardized English test scores.
