Initiative Description: Place2Be’s play-based counseling intervention. In its one-to-one work, Place2Be aims to offer an integrative intervention, drawing on a range of therapeutic orientations, primarily psychodynamic, person-centered and systemic. There is a focus on facilitating therapeutic change through the use of play and creative activities in a trusting therapeutic relationship. The aim is to help the child increase their resilience and communication skills and to help them reduce their emotional or behavioral problems.
Study Results: Reduced overall psychological distress. Greater improvements were found for children with higher baseline levels of distress, girls and bilingual children.
