Project SUCCESS
Initiative Description: Exposes students to universal drug prevention, establishes credibility and rapport and enables them to learn more about individual students. Counselors teach the 6- to 8-session Prevention Education Series to small groups until they have reached the entire student body. They discuss four topics, namely: Being an Adolescent; Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs; Family Pressures and Problems; and Skills for Coping.
Study Results: Improved knowledge and attitudes regarding substance use.
