Initiative Description: Meta-analysis on School-Based Substance Abuse Education. To be included, treatments had to be drug or alcohol education programs administered in elementary school through college settings to traditional students. 33 studies were included.
Study Results: Most of the treatments were short, and took place in the higher grades. Results included improved knowledge and attitudes regarding substance use, but not necessarily behaviors.
