Initiative Description:Community Conversation forums were carried out in an effort to reform the current suspension policy. During these events, they gathered input on the district’s suspension policy from the community and from school personnel. Four events were held for the community, and two were held for school personnel. During each forum, district administrators asked questions regarding how to address and improve the current suspension policy and practice.
Study Results: Suspensions overall are on a steady decline, but it also suggests that Bluetown still has work to do in targeting suspension reduction specifically for all Black students.
