Positive Action Curriculum

Initiative Description: Positive Action is a K-6 curriculum. Classroom teachers present 15- to 20-minute lessons almost every day. scripted lessons. the PA program includes a detailed curriculum with almost daily lessons, a schoolwide climate program, and family- and community-involvement components. 6 program units: self-concept, positive actions for one’s mind and body, managing oneself responsibly, getting along with others, being honest with oneself and others, improving oneself continuously. The program resulted in improved student behavior, school involvement, and academic achievement levels.

Study Results: Participation in the Positive Action program improved student behavior, school involvement, and academic achievement at all 3 levels of schools, with the results showing a clear dose-response relationship.
