INSIGHTS Program

Initiative Description:The INSIGHTS program, which incorporated teacher and parent programs that included the 3 R’s: recognize, reframe, and respond; the 2 S’s: scaffold and stretch; and the 2 C’s: gain compliance and competence and: (1) enhancing empathy skills (understand temperaments that people have), (2) learning how to resolve dilemmas (learn self-regulation strategies), and (3) resolving real dilemmas (though problem-solving processes) resulted in reductions in disruptive behaviors and off-task behaviors.

Study Results: Reduced disruptive behavior.
