The 4R instructional Program

https://casel.org/guideprograms4rs-reading-writing-respect-and-resolution/

Initiative Description:The 4-Rs classroom program with 40 minutes of instructional time per week (using literature to teach skills in handling anger, listening, assertiveness, cooperation, negotiation, mediation, building community, celebrating differences and countering bias), 2.4 days of teacher training, 38 days of teacher coaching results in improvements in overall classroom quality as observed by blind outside classroom observers after one year of program implementation.

Study Results: Results indicated (a) positive effects of teachers’ perceived emotional ability on classroom quality; (b) positive effects of the 4Rs Program on overall classroom quality, net of teacher social-emotional functioning indicators; and (c) intervention effects that are robust to differences in these teacher factors.
